R went to parkour.  J went to ballet and hip hop.

D and J watched a documentary about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome called Unrest.

W, R, and J attended all of their classes at MAHC.  D attended one (she got sick).  It's a new session, and their classes are:

W: Character Creation, US Government, and Song Analysis
R: Gender Theory, Improv, and Book Club
D: Magic School Bus, Ancient Writing Systems, DIY Gifts
J: Listen & Draw, Gross Nature, and Learning from the Lenape

R attended an Outschool class titled TEOTWAWKI-Wilderness Survival.

D went to circus.

We went on a hike in the woods on a 62 degree day in February:

W played D and D.

All the kids attended their religious education classes.

W and R worked with LOF.  D and J played Make 10, Addition War, and Blackjack.

W read independently, completing "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!": Adventures of a Curious Character by Richard Feynman.  R read with support, completing
The San Francisco Earthquake, 1906 by Lauren Tarshis.  D practiced reading, and mastered
Samantha by Bobby Lynn Maslen.  J practiced reading, and mastered
Bow-wow! by Bobby Lynn Maslen.

I read to the girls:
The Chickens Build a Wall by Jean-François Dumont
Miguel's Family by Elliot Riley.  I also invited them to help me by journalling about some of the books we read for a class I am taking online from a seminary.  These were the entries they completed this week:

W cooked and baked for the family.

R went to Parkour and J went to Ballet and Hip Hop.

The kids all attended their classes at MAHC.

D went to Circus.

R took an Outschool class on on Demystifying Illusions.

All the kids attended their religious education classes.  D's class lit the chalice together:

W biked, walked, and prepared a meal to bring to a church potluck.

R took an Outschool class on Creatures of the Deep Ocean.  We've decided to add a science class a week to get R some more focused science work.

D completed Printing Power by Janice Z. Olsen.  J worked with Explode the Code.

W made dinner for the family, and often baked at night.

and J completed Life of Fred: Apples by Stanley F. Schmidt.  We began playing some math facts focused card games.  Best one so far is Addition War.  Just like War only you play two cards at a time, and have to add them together to find out who takes the hand!

Texas week 2 (119/180)

This week was more cousins, crafting, bouncing, and a trip to a fantastic playground:

Followed by 2 long days in the car.

And then R, D, and J attended their religious education classes.  D had a part in a small play about King John Sigismund for the whole congregation.  She was also voted president of her class!

Trampolines (116/180)

We celebrated New Year's Eve and New Year's Day with cousins and friends in MD and VA:

Then we drove for two days to get to Austin, TX.  W and R listened to a lot of Unobscured, a podcast about the Salem Witch Trials.

In Austin, we did a lot of trampolining, playing with cousins, and crafting.  

We attended the United Methodist church one of the kids' aunts is currently working at, enjoying music and ritual.
