Braces (79/180)

R went to parkour.

J danced several times.

All the kids attended their MAHC classes.

D attended circus class, and tried out a dance class.

R, D and J attended a Halloween party.

W got braces!  Here's a before and after (he also got a haircut.)



(Never mind the nose.)

In other news, I hurt my back and so we didn't do much besides the absolute necessities this week.

This week included 4 days of instruction.

Hip Hop (75/180)

R went to parkour.

J went to dance a couple of times.  Here she is in Hip Hop:


All the kids attended their Fall 2 session classes at MAHC including:

J: 4s & 5s, Science Experiments You Can Eat
D: Map Making, SEYCE, Yoga
R: Games, Teen/Tween Storytime, Chess & Checkers
W: Games, US Government, Literary Magazine

D went to circus.

R played soccer several times.

W had a doctor's appointment, learning more about asthma.

All the kids attended their religious education classes.  R's youth group served 'weird' foods and learned a bit about them; W's youth group attended a Planned Parenthood speakers event.

All the kids worked with LOF.

W read independently.  He also received feedback about a paper he wrote for his US Government class, and listened to Science Friday podcasts.  He cooked dinner for the family and made Latkes from scratch and baked several (some more successful than others) batches of cookies.  W rode his stationary bike.

R read with support.  He watched some documentaries.

D and J practiced reading.  D worked with Handwriting Without Tears and J worked with Explode the Code.

W played D and D several times.

Soccer finally in full swing (63/180)

R went to parkour and J went to dance several times.

All the kids attended their MAHC classes.

D went to circus.

R played soccer several times.  It took a while for his season to get off the ground due to the rain we've been having, but they're on it now!  His team even actually won a game, in which he scored a goal!


D and J had a successful dentist appointment with no cavities.

R, D and J attended their religious education classes which included learning a lot about fire safety, as the story for the day was about a serious fire the church had many years ago, and what they did to recover and prevent future fires.

All the kids worked with LOF.

W read independently.  R read with support.  D mastered Summer (Bob Books Plus For Beginning Readers)Summer by Bobby Lynn Maslen.  J completed a re-read of the whole Bob Books first set!

D worked with Handwriting Without Tears.  J worked with Explode the Code.

Sick! (57/180)

Most of us spent parts of this week sick with an awful stomach virus.

That said ...

R went to parkour and J went to dance.

D went to circus.

R went to soccer.

W played D and D and made tacos for the family for dinner.

By Sunday everyone was well again and attended their religious education classes.

W, R, D, and J worked with LOF.

W read independently.  R read with support.  D and J practiced reading.

Not Back To School! (47/180)

R went to parkour.

 We attended our first day of MAHC for the year!




W is taking a class in Scratch programming, AP US Government, and Literary Magazine.  

R is taking Making a Table Top Game, Teen/Tween Storytime (they are reading Ghost BoysGhost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes) and Backyard Ballistics (picture above.)

D is taking Irish Tales and Legends, Air Dry Clay, and Crazy about Crafts.  

J is officially only taking her 4s and 5s class but really she is in Air Dry Clay too.

D went to her circus class.  J took her first Hip Hop class and went to ballet.  R went to soccer.

All the kids attended their religious education classes, and a portion of worship.

W rode his stationary bike.

W, R, D and J worked with LOF.  J is excited to be starting on LOF!
